Hey
Stick this list on your bathroom mirror and repeat daily.
DON'T ever run your flat iron over that same piece of hair twice. It's actually bad to keep going over and over the same piece of hair and it can be really damaging to your hair. Aim for one slow pass down each piece of hair.
DO use thermal heat protection that coats your hair with the ingredients to protect your hair and reduce any damage caused by high heats from flat irons and curling irons.
DON'T put a high-heat product on wet or damp hair, even if it claims to be a 'wet-to-dry' product.
DON'T start with the heat settings at the highest point. Even the thickest of curls don't need to be tended at 400 degrees Fahrenheit - start low and if you feel like more is needed, adjust it slowly. Remember: it's not about how the hair heats up, but it's the way it cools back down into formation.
DO apply mousse or straightening balm to assist in the process. Working with mousse allows for hold and you can avoid excessive hairspray at the end.
